仙台市：昨秋来訪のダライ・ラマの要請に面会断る　パンダ貸し出しに配慮か　／宮城

　仙台市が、昨年１１月に同市入りしたノーベル平和賞受賞者でチベット仏教の最高指導者ダライ・ラマ１４世から要請された奧山恵美子市長との面会を断っていたことが、２２日の市議会本会議で明らかになった。

　ダライ・ラマは東日本大震災の犠牲者慰霊のために仙台市や石巻市に入った。石巻市での法要には、同市の亀山紘市長が参加し、謝辞を述べた。

　仙台市の高橋一典市民局長は２２日の市議会で、要請があったことを認め「先方の日程が過密で、調整ができなかった」と述べた。市幹部によると、奧山市長に面会要請に対する判断を求める前に、担当者が断ったという。

　ダライ・ラマは「チベットは中国の領土」と主張する中国から批判されている。市は中国にジャイアントパンダ貸し出しを要請しており、対中関係に配慮した可能性もある。【平元英治】
